Hsinchu,
Taiwan
Hsinchu,
Taiwan
“Your mechanical engineering degree was actually a semiconductor career in disguise.”
Roles & Responsibilities
Skill Applications
- Vacuum & Pneumatics: Turbomolecular pumps, dry pumps, and vacuum chamber maintenance
- Thermal / HVAC: Chiller systems and cooling module service — critical for etch and implant tools
- Precision Mechanics: Wafer handling, robot arm alignment, and precision actuator calibration
- Gas Flow & Piping: Gas delivery system installation, leak detection, and flow control
- Hydraulics & Actuation: Valve actuation, pneumatic control systems, and equipment mechanics
Assignment Highlights
- Perform installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance on semiconductor process equipment at a leading Taiwan fab.
- Specialize in vacuum systems, chiller/cooling modules, precision mechanics, or gas delivery systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electromechanical faults and carry out corrective maintenance to return equipment to spec.
- Coordinate with electrical and process engineers to resolve cross-discipline equipment issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, service records, and maintenance schedules.
- Uphold cleanroom and EHS standards in a controlled fab environment.
Qualifications
- Willing to be stationed in Taiwan (3-month rotation or 1-year assignment — see below).
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- Hands-on mechanical experience in any sector — HVAC, marine/offshore, manufacturing, industrial machinery, medical devices, or similar.
- Comfortable reading technical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical schematics.
- Practical troubleshooting instincts: you’ve fixed things with your hands, not just on paper.
- No semiconductor experience required — full semiconductor-specific training is provided.
- Fresh Mechanical Engineering graduates are encouraged to apply.
Company Propositions
- Full semiconductor equipment training covering the areas where your mechanical skills directly apply.
- Taiwan fab assignment with exposure to the most precise manufacturing environment in the world.
- Competitive salary, overseas allowances, and accommodation support.
- A genuinely rare opportunity: Mechanical Engineers are underrepresented in semiconductor — your skills are in genuine short supply.
- Career progression into Senior Engineer and Technical Specialist roles.
- Travel across Asia-Pacific — Philippines, Singapore, and beyond.
